Two brothers, Gaddafi Isah (35) and Badamasi Isah (30), were lynched by a mob in Katsayal village, Sandamu Local Government Area of Katsina State, over allegations of livestock theft.

The incident was revealed on Monday by counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama via his X handle. Citing intelligence sources, Makama said the victims had taken their father’s vehicle to the outskirts of the village to practice driving when they were confronted by a mob.

The group accused them of stealing livestock and proceeded to beat them severely, inflicting serious injuries.

Security forces eventually intervened, rescuing the two men and rushing them to the Community Health Centre in Sandamu. However, they were later confirmed dead by a medical doctor.

Makama also noted that the vehicle the brothers were using was vandalized during the attack.

He added that the police have launched an investigation and are working to identify and apprehend those involved.

As of the time of filing this report, the state police spokesperson, Abubakar Aliyu, had not responded to calls or text messages regarding the incident.
