The Lagos State Police Command has uncovered a baby factory in the Ijegun area and rescued 10 victims, including seven adult women and three children. Three suspects have been arrested.

Command spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin revealed that the discovery followed a tip-off received last Saturday.

Officers promptly raided the location, arresting the prime suspect, 35-year-old Mariam Vincent, along with 23-year-old Orie Ruth and 18-year-old Ujunwa Ifeanyi.

Among the rescued were women aged between 22 and 26, and three children—Destiny (7), Miracle (5), and Success (2). All victims are now receiving medical care and support.

Hundeyin stated that the suspects confessed to abducting the victims from various locations across Lagos to operate the illegal facility.

Investigations are ongoing, and the suspects will be prosecuted.

Providing an update on recent police operations, Hundeyin reported that 39 individuals were arrested over the past two weeks for crimes including kidnapping, armed robbery, rape, and illegal firearms possession.

In a separate incident, police rescued two kidnapped individuals in the Igbe Alagemo community of Ikorodu.

The abduction occurred on March 26, when armed kidnappers stormed the area, killing a security dog and taking two victims—40-year-old Dare and 25-year-old Rodiat—from their homes.

Following a coordinated three-day effort by police and local security teams, the victims were rescued late on March 29 and safely reunited with their families.

The area remains under surveillance as investigations continue.
