The family residence of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State was attacked in the early hours of Tuesday by unidentified gunmen.
According to local sources, the assailants—armed with guns and cutlasses—arrived around 1:00 am and damaged parts of the building, including smashing windows, causing fear among residents. At least three individuals were reportedly involved in the incident.
Following a report from Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Chief Security Officer, Yakubu Ovanja, officers from the Okehi Police Division were dispatched to the scene.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan has yet to issue a public statement.
The Senator, who represents Kogi Central in the National Assembly, has recently been in the spotlight due to her sexual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Security forces have launched a preliminary investigation, although no arrests have been made and no injuries were reported.
Police are continuing efforts to identify and apprehend those responsible.
