Police in Niger State have arrested a man, Maikudi Usman, in connection with the death of Muhammad Ma’aba following a violent altercation in Gbako Local Government Area.

According to the state police spokesperson, Wasiu Abiodun, the incident occurred on April 17 around 2:00 p.m. when a group allegedly led by Alhaji Yikangi of Chikan village attacked Ma’aba, who was from Kuderegi village.

Both villages are located in the same local government area.

The attack reportedly stemmed from a dispute involving a woman identified as Fatima Suleiman, who is also from the same area. Ma’aba was severely beaten and lost consciousness during the assault.

He died on the way to Lemu Hospital, where he was later confirmed dead.

The police have launched an investigation and are working to apprehend others involved in the incident.
