Authorities in Benue State have commenced an investigation following the killing of a youth leader, Raphael Ikyav, also known as “Spanar,” who was stabbed to death late Wednesday.

The incident occurred in the Akpehe area of Makurdi, the state capital.

According to a local resident who wished to remain anonymous, Ikyav was attacked by unidentified assailants near his shop along Akpehe Road.

Reports indicate that the attackers tracked him to his shop, where they repeatedly stabbed him and left him bleeding at the scene.

The spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is currently underway.
