The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Out of the 1,955,069 candidates who sat for this year’s exam, over 1.5 million scored below 200, according to data published by JAMB on Monday. Only 420,415 candidates were able to score above 200, indicating that about 75 percent of test-takers fell short of that mark. Additionally, fewer than one percent of all candidates scored above 300.
In the same release, JAMB revealed that 40,247 underage candidates were allowed to participate to showcase their academic potential. However, just 467 of them (1.16%) met the benchmark for “exceptional ability,” and they will still undergo further assessment in three additional stages.
This year’s UTME began on Thursday, April 24, and JAMB has made it easy for candidates to check their results using two methods—via the official portal and by SMS.

How to Check UTME 2025 Result Online
1. Visit JAMB’s eFacility Portal
Go to https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/login using your browser.
2. Log In to Your Account
Enter the email address and password you used during your UTME registration.
3. View Your Result
After logging in, click on the “Check UTME Results” option. Your scores in each subject will be displayed on the screen.
How to Check UTME 2025 Result via SMS
1. Open Your Messaging App
Launch the SMS app on your mobile phone.
2. Type the Message
In a new message, type RESULT (in capital letters), followed by your JAMB Registration Number.
3. Send the SMS
Send this message to 55019 or 66019, the official JAMB result-checking numbers.
4. Wait for Your Result
You’ll receive a reply with your scores for each subject.
5. Note the Cost
This SMS service costs ₦50, which will be deducted from your airtime balance.
