A 17-year-old boy, Shahid Ahmad, was discovered dead in a pool of water in the Hotoro Walawai area behind MGR Filling Station in the Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State.
This was confirmed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi.
According to Abdullahi, the teenager’s body was retrieved from the water on Tuesday afternoon, although it remains unclear whether he drowned.
His father reportedly took the body for burial before further investigation could take place.
The statement revealed that at 3:31 p.m., a distress call was made by Anas Haruna reporting a body floating in a nearby pond. A rescue team was immediately dispatched and arrived at the scene at 3:45 p.m.
The victim’s body was recovered from the water and handed over to his father, Malam Ahmad.
