The Ogun State Security Network, also known as Amotekun, has arrested a suspected drug dealer, Emmanuel Obi, in Ayetoro, Yewa North Local Government Area.

In a statement released on Friday, Amotekun said the arrest followed credible intelligence from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), which had been tracking Obi’s alleged involvement in drug trafficking in the area.

According to the statement, Obi was linked to a commercial driver named Alausa, who is currently in NDLEA custody.

Alausa was reportedly tasked with transporting a large quantity of suspected hard drugs from Abeokuta to Ayetoro, with an estimated street value in the millions of naira.

The NDLEA intercepted an 18-seater Mazda bus on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, along the Abeokuta-Ayetoro road. Upon questioning, the driver identified Obi as the owner of the seized substances.

Amotekun operatives acted swiftly on the intelligence and arrested Obi.

He has since been handed over to the Ogun State command of the NDLEA for further investigation and prosecution.

Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity that may threaten public safety.
