Two suspected kidnappers have been captured by local hunters in Owo, the headquarters of Owo Local Government Area in Ondo State.
A video posted on Facebook by a user identified as Ogbeni OB Sugar shows the suspects tied up and being interrogated by residents. In the two-minute, forty-one-second clip, the suspects are questioned about their operations, the identity of their gang leader, and other criminal activities.
Items reportedly recovered from the suspects include firearms, cutlasses, cans of beer, and energy drinks. One of the suspects is seen pleading for water, a moment that drew attention from viewers online.
A resident, who asked not to be named, said the hunters had tracked the suspects to their camp in the forest.
“The hunters stormed their hideout yesterday. While some of the kidnappers escaped, two were caught and brought into town,” the resident said.
Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed he had seen the video and said the police have launched an investigation into the incident.
