Real Madrid have completed the signing of England right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool, confirming the deal that will see the 26-year-old defender wear the famous white jersey until 2031.
The Spanish giants, in an official statement released on Friday, announced that an agreement has been reached with Liverpool for Alexander-Arnold, who will join the club on June 1, 2025.
His contract will run through to June 30, 2031.
“Real Madrid C.F. and Liverpool FC have agreed on the transfer of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who will be part of our team for the next six seasons,” the club stated.
Alexander-Arnold, a Liverpool academy graduate, has enjoyed a trophy-laden career at Anfield. During his time with the Reds, he lifted nine major honours, including two Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup, two EFL Cups, and the FA Community Shield.
The England international, who debuted for the Three Lions in 2018, has featured in two FIFA World Cups (2018 and 2022) and represented his country at UEFA Euro 2024. Widely praised for his technical ability and creativity from defence, he has received numerous individual accolades.
Among his personal achievements, Alexander-Arnold was named in the FIFA FIFPro World 11 in 2020 and earned spots in the UEFA Champions League Team of the Season twice (2018/19 and 2021/22).
He also appeared in the Premier League Team of the Season three times and was crowned the league’s Young Player of the Season in 2019/20.
He is expected to make his debut for Real Madrid at the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, which kicks off on June 14.
