Ondo targets tech investment as Akinribido represents state at London tech week

Hon. Tomide Akinribido, Senior Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on ICT, is currently representing the state at the ongoing London Tech Week in the United Kingdom, with a clear mission to attract investment and position Ondo as a future hub for technological innovation.

The high-profile event, which runs from June 9 to 13, is themed “Tech in the Age of AI” and was formally opened by UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, highlighting its international significance.

London Tech Week draws a global audience of innovators, business leaders, policymakers, and ICT firms from more than 90 countries, providing a platform for cross-border collaboration and forward-thinking dialogue in the tech space.

Hon. Akinribido’s participation underscored the Ondo State government’s growing commitment to digital transformation under the leadership of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

His presence at the event is focused on showcasing Ondo State’s untapped tech potential and courting international investors interested in partnering on ICT projects that can drive economic growth.

Speaking on the state’s ambition, Akinribido emphasized that Ondo is ready to leverage partnerships in emerging technologies to build a robust digital economy that can create jobs, boost innovation, and improve public services.

“This is an opportunity to tell the Ondo State story on a global stage — to present our vision of a tech-driven future and attract meaningful investments that can transform the state into a thriving digital hub,” he said.

Through engagements at London Tech Week, the Ondo State delegation hopes to build strategic relationships that will position the state as a destination for innovation, enterprise, and sustainable development.
