Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, has formally resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the country’s ruling party.
Lawal announced his resignation in a personally signed statement, which he addressed to the APC chairman in Bangshika Ward, Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
“I write to formally notify you of my resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC),” the letter read.
While he did not immediately disclose his next political move, Lawal hinted that he would announce his new political affiliation soon.
“In due course, I will make public my current political affiliation, where I plan to join compatriots to work towards making Nigeria a better living place for all citizens. This resignation takes immediate effect,” he stated.
He concluded the letter by extending warm regards to party members in his ward.
Babachir Lawal served as SGF during the first term of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
