Former President Muhammadu Buhari passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, around 4:30 p.m. at a hospital in London after battling a prolonged illness.
In response to the national loss, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared a seven-day period of mourning. Flags are to be flown at half-mast across the country, and an emergency Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday to organize official burial plans.
