Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Wednesday paid a condolence visit to the family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari at his residence in Daura, Katsina State.
Buhari, who served Nigeria both as a military ruler and a two-term democratically elected president, passed away on Sunday at a London clinic at the age of 82.
His body was returned to Nigeria on Tuesday aboard the presidential aircraft, accompanied by Vice President Kashim Shettima and the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.
President Bola Tinubu, alongside a federal delegation, received the remains at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Airport in Katsina.
Buhari was laid to rest the same day in his hometown of Daura in line with Islamic traditions and was honoured with a full military burial, including a 21-gun salute.
