All is set for the 2025 edition of the YemieFash Online News (YFON) Interactive Session and Dinner, one of the most anticipated civic events in Ondo State, scheduled to hold on Sunday, July 27.
Now in its third edition, the annual gathering has earned national recognition for fostering high-level dialogue on critical issues affecting Nigeria and Ondo State in particular, while promoting practical solutions through expert contributions from diverse sectors.
This year’s theme, “Strengthening Institutions; Securing Nations: The Pillar of Good Governance and Lasting Peace in Ondo State,” reflects the platform’s continued commitment to shaping discourse around governance, development, and civic responsibility.
The keynote address will be delivered by Prof. Adebisi Daramola, a respected academic and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko. He will be joined by a distinguished lineup of panelists who will offer insights on critical areas such as security, law and justice, gender issues, political reform, youth development, and the role of traditional institutions.
Some of the notable personalities expected on the panel include Hon. Justice Bolatito Ajibade; Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire; Ondo State Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal; NSCDC State Commandant, Oluyemi Ibiloye; the Olowo of Owo, His Imperial Majesty Oba Ajibade Ogunoye; Hon. Adejoro Adeogun; Dr. Seun Bosede Osamaye; Engr. Ayotunde Bally, and Hon. Balarabe Akinwumi.
As part of the build-up to the main event, the planning committee on Friday, July 25, organized a free medical outreach in collaboration with the Ondo State Ministry of Women Affairs. The outreach, a first in the history of YFON’s civic engagement efforts, catered to over 300 participants. Services rendered included medical consultations, malaria and blood sugar tests, health insurance registration, drug distribution, and vital signs checks—all at no cost to beneficiaries.
Speaking ahead of the main event, the Chairman of the 2025 Planning Committee, Hon. Tomide Akinribido, emphasized the importance of unity and collective effort in advancing the development of Ondo State. He urged all members of the YFON platform, political office holders, and stakeholders to set aside personal and political differences and work together toward the common good.
The event promises a blend of intellectual discourse and social networking and is expected to draw participants from across the state and beyond.
“All hands must be on deck if we truly want to build a prosperous Ondo State,” Akinribido noted, while inviting guests to attend the interactive session punctually.
Further details about the event have been circulated via the official flier.
