The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed all public universities in Nigeria to conclude their 2025 admission processes by October 31.

In a bulletin released on Monday, the board also ordered private universities to finalise admissions by November 30, while all other tertiary institutions, both public and private, must complete theirs by December 31.

JAMB explained that the directive aligns with resolutions reached at the 2025 Policy Meeting chaired by the Minister of Education, aimed at stabilising the academic calendar and ensuring fair access to admission opportunities across institutions.

“Even where an institution is not yet ready to commence the new academic session, such an institution should conduct its admission and archive it,” the board stated.

The examination body further directed universities and other tertiary institutions to conclude post-UTME screenings early enough to meet the deadlines.

“All admission processes must be concluded within the prescribed timelines,” JAMB warned.
