A 25-year-old man, Toheeb Musbau, was on Monday arraigned before the Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing aluminium windows valued at N200,000.
Musbau, whose address was not disclosed, is facing charges of felony and stealing. He, however, pleaded not guilty.
Police prosecutor, Edet Ekpo, told the court that the defendant, alongside others still at large, committed the offence on August 15 at about 2 p.m. on Amunipe Street, Ibiye, Badagry.
According to him, the stolen windows belonged to one Lapa Muritala, who reported the case to the police, leading to Musbau’s arrest.
Ekpo said the offences contravened Sections 409 and 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
Chief Magistrate Nurudeen Layeni granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, one of whom must be self-employed.
The case was adjourned until September 24 for mention.
