The Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun, has deployed 900 officers and men to ensure adequate security during the 2025 Eid-el-Maulud celebrations.
State Commander, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed this in Akure, assuring residents of a peaceful and secure environment throughout the festivities.
According to him, directives have been issued to all zonal and area commanders, as well as Amotekun rangers, to maintain vigilance. He said officers have been strategically deployed to identified “red spots” across the 18 local government areas of the state, including major highways, places of worship and public gathering points.
“This is part of our commitment to safeguard lives and property and to prevent crime during and after the festive period. We urge citizens to provide us with credible information that can help us act promptly,” Adeleye stated.
The commander extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful, praying for a joyous and harmonious celebration. He further emphasised that the Corps is working closely with other security agencies, community leaders and stakeholders to guarantee an incident-free celebration across the state.
