The Chief Press Secretary to Ondo State Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, has extended support to a physically challenged student of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo.
The beneficiary, Omolara Enikanoselu, a student of Science Laboratory Technology, received a wheelchair, a mobile phone, a power bank and a pledge to have her tuition fee for the next academic session paid by the CPS.
Adeniyan, in a terse post, said the gesture was aimed at easing Omolara’s academic journey and improving her campus experience.
The presentation was witnessed by Omolara’s classmates, lecturers and faculty deans, who lauded the initiative.
According to her classmates, “This visit not only brought joy to Omolara but also served as a morale boost to her peers.”
Dr. Sunday Afolayan, a lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, who highlighted Omolara’s resilience, expressed gratitude to Adeniyan for the intervention.
“It’s heartwarming to see individuals like you taking an interest in the welfare of students with disabilities.
“This gesture has brought joy and hope to Omolara and her peers, and serves as a reminder of the importance of compassion and empathy in our society.
“The student’s determination to succeed despite her physical challenge is an inspiration to many, and Adeniyan’s gesture will undoubtedly motivate her to continue striving for excellence.
“The entire Rufus Giwa Polytechnic community appreciates Adeniyan’s kindness and hopes that his gesture will inspire others to follow suit.
“By supporting Omolara, Adeniyan has not only improved her academic prospects but also boosted her confidence and morale,” he said.
