President Bola Tinubu on Friday departed Abuja for Ibadan, Oyo State, to attend the coronation of the new Olubadan, Senator Rashidi Ladoja.

The presidential jet left the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at about 2:45 p.m., according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

On arrival in Ibadan, Tinubu is expected to join dignitaries and traditional rulers at Mapo Hall for the official installation ceremony.

Ladoja, 81, a former governor of Oyo State and senator, was chosen as the 44th Olubadan following the death of Oba Owolabi Olakulehin on July 7.

His ascension has stirred excitement across the city, as residents prepare to celebrate the elevation of the respected businessman and political leader, who rose through the traditional hierarchy to the revered throne.
