A Shari’a Court sitting in the Fagge area of Kano State has sentenced a 33-year-old man, Nasiru Shitu, to eight months imprisonment for impersonating a police officer.
Shitu, a resident of Kofar Waika Quarters in Kano, was arrested on September 21, 2025, at about 5:00 p.m. while wearing a police uniform at Kofar Dawanau.
The prosecutor, Zaharaddeen Mustapha, told the court that the accused was charged with impersonation, to which he pleaded guilty.
In his ruling, the presiding judge, Khadi Nasiru Ahmad Muhammad, convicted Shitu and sentenced him to eight months imprisonment, with an option of a ₦70,000 fine.
