Police operatives in Plateau State have recovered the decomposed body of a man earlier reported kidnapped from a mining pond in the Farin Lamba community, Jos South Local Government Area.
Security analyst, Zagazola Makama, disclosed the development in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday.
According to him, residents alerted the police around 4 p.m. after sighting a body floating in the pond.
The Divisional Police Officer of Kaduna Vom Division, accompanied by officers, visited the scene, where the corpse was identified as that of Mr. Cyril Nilanda, a resident of NITR Quarters, Vom.
Nilanda was reportedly abducted on September 30, 2025, and had remained missing since the incident.
Sources said the remains, already in an advanced state of decomposition, were being prepared for evacuation and forensic examination to assist investigators.
Police authorities have assured that efforts are underway to track down and apprehend those responsible for the abduction and killing of the victim.
