Ondo promotes over 3,000 workers, recruits about 3,000 others in 2025

No fewer than 3,089 deserving officers across the Public Service of Ondo State have been promoted while about 3,000 others were newly recruited to strengthen the service in the year 2025.

The state Head of Service, Bayo Philip disclosed this on Tuesday while flagging off activities lined up for the year 2025 Public Service Week in Akure, the State Capital.

The Head of Service, who further hinted that that the processes for the year 2026 promotion had commenced in earnest, added that the state government had employed to the public service, about 2830 workers in the current year to key sectors like health, education, justice, works and forestry.

Philip, while highlighting the achievements of the public service sector under the current administration of Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, lauded the governor for prompt payment of salary of workers as well as pension and gratuity of retirees.

His words, ‘”The foregoing manifest the deliberate attention of this administration to workers welfare, among other things and they are clear testimonies that the administration of Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa values the workforce and sees public servants as partners in the progress of the state.

“Therefore it is expected that public officers reciprocate this goodwill with renewed dedication, integrity and productivity. We owe this as a sacred duty not only to the government but to the of our dear state.’

According to him, activities for the 2025 Public Service Week celebration include health walk on Wednesday followed by a novelty match between main stream civil servants (state) and local government teams at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure.

He also revealed that there would be public service lecture on Thursday to be followed by interactive session tagged ‘Ask the legends’ where serving officers would be able to tap from the wealth of experience of selected retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries.

He further disclosed that awards of recognition of exemplary service delivery would conferred on deserving officers both serving and retired during the celebration.

” On this year’s auspicious occasion of this anniversary, we would turn the searchlight inward to take stock evaluate ourselves as we refuel for the period ahead,”he concluded.
