The Abia State Police Command has launched an investigation into an alleged case of misconduct involving a three-year-old pupil at Dominion School in Aba.

A gateman employed by the school has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.

A video that surfaced online over the weekend showed a man identified as the school’s security guard responding to questions about the allegation.

In the footage, he appeared remorseful and claimed the incident happened only once.

Confirming the development on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Abia State Police Command, Mrs Maureen Chinaka, said the matter had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for thorough investigation.

“The case is currently under investigation and has been moved to the SCID,” Chinaka stated.

She assured the public that due process would be followed and that the command remained committed to protecting vulnerable members of society.

The incident has heightened concerns among residents about child safety within educational institutions, prompting calls for stricter supervision and safeguarding measures in schools.
