The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) as imperfect, yet still a better option for Nigeria compared to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Keyamo made the remark in a video shared on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, clarifying comments from a 2017 interview that had recently been taken out of context.
In the post, he said, “This is the unedited part of the interview I granted a blog in 2017, emphasising that APC may not be a party of saints, which is a matter of fact.
However, it is still far better than where we were coming from. Some characters edited out the last part of my statement.”
He added, “I will be a fool to claim APC is a party of saints. Anyone who declares any political party as a party of saints is also making a foolhardy claim.”
Keyamo further noted that while no political party is without flaws, the APC presents better prospects for the nation than the PDP, which previously held power.
“But on balance, the APC remains the best hope for the country. We cannot return to the PDP era, where some of the individuals currently aspiring for the presidency were prominent. Only President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu never joined that battered train of PDP at the time,” he says.
