A fire outbreak on Friday evening engulfed a building on Biola Street in the Alapere area of Ketu, Lagos State, sending residents into panic as flames spread through the property.
The cause of the inferno was yet to be determined as of the time of filing this report, while the extent of the damage had also not been officially confirmed.
Eyewitnesses said officials of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service responded promptly after receiving distress calls and immediately commenced efforts to contain the blaze.
Firefighters were seen battling the flames to prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring buildings in the densely populated community.
As of press time, no casualties had been reported, although emergency responders were still at the scene working to bring the situation under control.
