A social media user identified as Debrakin has accused popular live band performer, Segun Johnson, of abruptly ending their 13-year relationship after urging her to relocate to Lagos.
Debrakin made the allegations in a series of posts shared on TikTok, where she detailed the history of their relationship, describing it as long-standing but marked by intermittent challenges.
According to her, the relationship began over a decade ago and endured periods of separation, including a time when she relocated to the United Kingdom.
She claimed they later reconciled abroad after the singer had gained popularity and resumed their relationship.
She explained that she frequently travelled between Lagos and the UK, but returned to Britain in January after spending time in Nigeria late last year.
Debrakin alleged that the musician later persuaded her to move back to Lagos permanently, offering to support her financially if needed.
She said she initially resisted the idea, expressing a desire to remain financially independent, but eventually agreed after persistent pressure.
She added that she left behind a new job opportunity abroad and relocated to Nigeria, believing the move was a step towards settling down together.
However, she claimed that the situation changed shortly after her return, alleging that events surrounding the singer’s trip to the UK raised concerns about his commitment.
According to her, she discovered that a gift he brought back from the trip had been purchased by another woman, a development that led to tension between them.
Debrakin further alleged that efforts to address the issue ended abruptly when the singer reportedly called off the relationship through a voice note message, bringing their long-term relationship to an end.
She expressed uncertainty over the circumstances surrounding the breakup, noting that the development came as a shock.
When contacted for comment, Segun Johnson did not respond to calls or text messages as of the time of filing this report.
In a follow-up post, Debrakin said sharing her experience publicly was part of her healing process, adding that speaking out would help her move on and avoid returning to what she described as an unhealthy situation.
