Security operatives in Ghana have arrested a suspect, identified as Ebenezer Frimpong, for allegedly stealing an armoured vehicle belonging to the Ghana Police Service in the Ashanti Region.
The incident reportedly occurred at Nkawie Market, where the police vehicle had been stationed before it was taken under questionable circumstances.
Sources indicated that the driver had briefly stepped away from the vehicle, leaving the engine running, when the suspect allegedly seized the opportunity to drive it off, triggering an emergency response.
Following the report, law enforcement agencies launched a swift manhunt, tracking the suspect along the Nkawie–Mim axis.
He was subsequently intercepted and taken into custody near Mim in what authorities described as a coordinated operation.
A security source confirmed that the suspect was apprehended without resistance and that the armoured vehicle was recovered intact.
The police have since secured the vehicle and returned it to official custody.
The suspect remains in detention as investigations continue to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
