The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested four suspected armed robbers over an attack on members of the National Youth Service Corps at the Corpers’ Lodge within the Specialist Hospital, Jimeta, Yola.

The suspects were arrested in connection with allegations of criminal conspiracy, possession of dangerous weapons, criminal trespass and armed robbery.

The command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday.

He identified the suspects as Elkana Ishaya, 17, of Clarck Quarters, Jimeta; Mubarak Abubakar, 22, of Galadima Street, Jimeta; Musa Umar, 30, of Samunaka; and Kabiru Tanko, 20, of Galadima Street, Jimeta.

According to the police, the incident occurred on June 27, 2026, when the suspects, allegedly armed with dangerous weapons, invaded the corps members’ lodge and dispossessed about 36 occupants of their valuables, including mobile phones.

Nguroje said operatives attached to the Karewa Area Command immediately launched an investigation after receiving the report, leading to the arrest of the four suspects.

He added that four mobile phones believed to have been stolen from the victims were recovered during the operation.

The police spokesman said efforts were ongoing to recover additional stolen items and apprehend other members of the gang who remain at large.

He noted that the suspects would be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of investigations.

Reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, CP Kabir Hassan, reassured residents, particularly corps members serving in the state, of the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property.

The commissioner also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements and individuals to the nearest police station to aid efforts at tackling crime.
