The South-West leadership of the All Progressives Congress has encouraged youths in Ondo State to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
The party said the appeal followed the resumption of the Continuous Voter Registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission nationwide.
Speaking in a statement on Thursday, the APC South-West Youth Leader, Daramola Adesuyi, urged eligible youths not to miss the opportunity to register.
He noted that the PVC remained a key requirement for citizens willing to take part in elections and contribute to the country’s democratic process.
Adesuyi said, “The voter card is not only needed during elections, it also serves as a recognised means of identification for citizens.”
He added, “For democracy to thrive, citizens, particularly young people, must participate actively by registering and voting during elections.”
The APC youth leader further called on youth coordinators, party officials, student bodies and other stakeholders across the South-West to sensitise and mobilise residents for the exercise.
He explained that the registration period would also enable voters to update their details, transfer registration to new locations and replace missing or damaged PVCs.
