The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, received a delegation of Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Chairmen in his office, in what can be described as a strategic engagement aimed at strengthening party unity and consolidating grassroots governance across the state.

Addressing the delegation on behalf of the State Working Committee, the Chairman expressed deep appreciation for their visit, describing it as a demonstration of alignment with the party’s leadership and an affirmation of their commitment to the progressive ideals of the APC.

Mr Chairman emphasized that their emergence as LCDA Chairmen was not accidental but a product of constitutional processes, duly enacted by the Ondo State House of Assembly, thereby conferring on them both legitimacy and responsibility.

In other to underscored party discipline and institutional respect, the Chairman reiterated that those who have labored diligently for the growth of the party must be recognized and entrusted with leadership at the grassroots level. According to him, the current APC administration under H.E Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has begun to reshape the political narrative in Ondo State, ushering in what he described as “Our Ease Agenda” under the purposeful leadership of the Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

Hon. Kolawole Babatunde further declared that all LCDA Chairmen, by virtue of their offices, are statutory stakeholders within the APC structure in Ondo State and must be duly recognized and integrated into all relevant party frameworks. This, he noted, is essential for fostering inclusiveness, strengthening coordination and ensuring that governance at the grassroots remains aligned with the broader vision of the party.

While acknowledging ongoing efforts to unify party members, the Chairman did not shy away from addressing concerns about internal discord. He warned against actions and tendencies capable of fueling disunity, stressing that loyalty to the party leadership and adherence to established structures remain non-negotiable pillars for sustainable political progress.

Speaking on behalf of the LCDA Chairmen, the group leader, Joshua Akinolu, conveyed profound gratitude to the party leadership and the State Chairman for their guidance and support. He equally commended the Governor for the confidence reposed in them to serve at the grassroots level, describing the opportunity as both an honor and a call to greater responsibility.

The LCDA Chairmen collectively reaffirmed their unwavering loyalty to the APC, pledging total support for the party leadership, the State Chairman, and the Governor. They also expressed appreciation for the recent enhancement of their salaries, noting that such gestures serve as motivation to deliver more effective and people-oriented governance at the local level.

The meeting, beyond its ceremonial outlook, reinforced a central message: that unity, loyalty and disciplined engagement within party structures remain the bedrock upon which the APC in Ondo State continues to build its political strength and governance success.
