The All Progressives Congress has rescheduled its House of Representatives primary election for the 2027 general elections, moving the exercise by one day to Saturday, May 16, 2026.
The ruling party, however, maintained that all other previously announced primary election dates remain unchanged.
The APC disclosed this in a statement released on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
According to the statement, only the House of Representatives primary was affected by the adjustment, contrary to reports suggesting that the party had reviewed its entire timetable.
“The All Progressives Congress announces the postponement of the House of Representatives Primary Election for the 2027 General Elections to Saturday, 16th May, 2026,” the statement noted.
The party reaffirmed that the Senate primary election would still take place on Monday, May 18, while the State House of Assembly primary remains fixed for Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
It also stated that the governorship primary would hold on Thursday, May 21, with the presidential primary scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026.
The APC insisted that aside from the adjustment to the House of Representatives primary, every other date in the timetable remains intact.
