Former SA Inter-Party Affairs, Ojamomi directs supporters to back APC consensus candidates across Ondo

A former Special Adviser on Inter-Party Affairs, Barrister Fadeshola Ojamomi, has directed his supporters across Ondo State to vote massively for all consensus candidates adopted by the All Progressives Congress ahead of forthcoming elections, declaring that party unity must prevail over personal ambition.

Ojamomi, who recently aspired to represent Ilaje Constituency I, made this known in a statement issued on Friday, where he announced his acceptance of the party’s consensus.

The legal practitioner said his decision followed months of consultations, political engagements, and consultations with stakeholders across the constituency, noting that he remained committed to the progress of the party and the development of Ilaje land.

The full statement below:

T’oba Lasè: Loyalty Above Ambition, Unity Above Self

By: Fadeshola Ojamomi, Esq

The expression “T’oba Lasè” is deeply rooted in Yoruba political and cultural philosophy. Derived from the words “Ti Ọba lásẹ́,” it literally translates to “when the king has spoken” or “the king’s decision is final.” Beyond its literal interpretation, it embodies the timeless values of respect for constituted authority, loyalty to leadership, and the collective responsibility to uphold decisions taken in the interest of peace, order, and progress. It is against this profound cultural and political understanding that I address the press today, after six months of rigorous consultations, engagements, and a determined campaign to earn the trust and support of the good people of Ilaje Constituency I for the opportunity to represent them.

Throughout this journey, I traversed communities, consulted with stakeholders, engaged our people at every level, and presented a vision anchored on purposeful representation, sustainable development, and responsive leadership. The overwhelming support, encouragement, and confidence shown to me by our people remain one of the greatest honours of my political journey.

However, following extensive consultations and the internal democratic mechanisms of our great party, His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, as the leader of our party, alongside respected leaders and stakeholders within the constituency, arrived at a consensus decision in favour of another aspirant.

As a loyal party man and one who firmly believes in discipline, order, and the supremacy of collective interest above personal ambition, I have accepted this decision in good faith, with absolute respect for the wisdom of the leadership. I bear no resentment toward the party, our leaders, or the outcome of the consensus process. Indeed, I recognize that in politics, leadership decisions are often guided by broader strategic considerations aimed at strengthening our collective cause.

I wish to wholeheartedly congratulate our party’s flag bearer, Amb. Orioye Igbayisemore, who is not only a worthy candidate but also a dear childhood friend and brother. I have absolute confidence in his capacity, character, and commitment to effectively represent the interests of our people. He has my full support, loyalty, and cooperation as we move forward together in unity.

I also extend my sincere appreciation to all my Professional Colleagues, Mentors, Personal Financiers, Supporters, Political Associates, Friends, and the good people of Ilaje Constituency 1, who stood by me throughout this process.

My undiluted gratitude to the Leadership and members of Ilaje Development Summit Group (IDSG) , The Ilaje Lawyers Forun (ILF) and members of Ogo-Ilaje National Movement (OINM), your sacrifices and unwavering commitment will never be forgotten. This may mark the end of one chapter, but it does not signal the end of our collective commitment to service and development.

In the true spirit of *T’oba Lasè*, I wish to respectfully admonish all aspirants, stakeholders, supporters, and members of our great party to abide by the decision of His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, and to ensure that the collective decision of the party is respected, protected, and fully adhered to. At this critical moment, unity must prevail over personal ambition, and party loyalty must supersede individual interests. Only through solidarity, discipline, and total commitment to our shared vision can we secure victory and continue the progressive advancement of our people.
