The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries has suspended vigils and overnight prayer programmes across its branches nationwide amid growing security concerns in the country.

The directive, which takes immediate effect, was contained in an internal circular issued on Friday by the church’s leadership and signed by the Director of Administration at its International Headquarters and Nigeria, Temitope Olawale.

According to the circular, all church activities, including services, meetings and other programmes, must now end by 8pm until further notice as part of measures aimed at safeguarding worshippers and church workers.

The church said the decision was prompted by the prevailing security situation across the country and was intended to protect members without disrupting their spiritual activities.

Under the new guidelines, Principal Regional Overseers, Senior Regional Overseers, Mega Regional Overseers, Zonal Pastors, Branch Pastors and other leaders were directed to ensure strict compliance with the directive in all assemblies.

The ministry also announced the suspension of vigils, overnight prayer meetings and related programmes across its branches nationwide.

However, it noted that where necessary, such programmes could be converted to evening prayer sessions, provided they are concluded on or before 8pm.

The church emphasised that the measure was purely precautionary and designed to enhance the safety and well-being of members amid concerns over insecurity in several parts of the country.

It further directed Mega Regional Overseers to immediately communicate the development to all regions, zones, branches and departments under their supervision for prompt implementation.

The directive will remain in force pending a further review by the church leadership.
