American singer and dancer Chris Brown has been granted bail by a London court following charges related to an alleged bottle attack at a nightclub in 2023.
The 36-year-old Grammy-winning artist is accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm on Abraham Diaw during an incident in February 2023. Brown was arrested and formally charged last week.
At a hearing on Wednesday at Southwark Crown Court, Judge Tony Baumgartner ruled that Brown could remain free on bail, allowing him to continue his ongoing international tour, including scheduled UK performances in June and July.
As part of the bail conditions, Brown is required to pay a £5 million (approximately $6.7 million) security fee to the court.
This sum serves as a financial guarantee to ensure his return for future court proceedings and may be forfeited if he violates the terms of his bail.
Brown did not attend the bail hearing in person.
