A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Professor Olasiji Olamiju, has called on party aspirants to avoid adopting a “do-or-die” mentality as they prepare for the 2026 governorship election.
Olamiju, who previously served as Special Adviser on Public Health to former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, made the appeal in a statement issued to journalists on Thursday in Osogbo.
He emphasized the importance of sportsmanship among aspirants, noting that unity within the party is crucial for achieving victory in the upcoming elections.
“The high number of aspirants vying for the APC ticket reflects the party’s strength and the people’s demand for effective leadership in Osun,” Olamiju stated.
“I urge all aspirants to put the party’s unity first and support whoever emerges as the flagbearer.
Our shared goal should be to ensure the APC secures victory in Osun in 2026 and contributes to delivering the state for President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.”
He added that all committed party members should now focus on how best to position the APC for success in the coming elections.
