The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has assumed control of the investigation into the death of Chief Shimite Love, Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Trade and Export.
Chief Love reportedly passed away in the early hours of Easter Monday. Following her death, members of her family raised concerns and accused her husband of being involved.
Confirming the development in Asaba on Monday, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, stated that the deceased’s family requested the case be transferred to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
“The family applied, and the Force Headquarters has taken over the matter,” Edafe said.
He also noted that an autopsy had been conducted to determine the cause of death, and the results are still being awaited.
