Nigerians in UK struggling financially – Tacha claims

Reality TV personality and influencer, Natasha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has stirred conversation online with her remarks about the financial struggles of Nigerians living in the United Kingdom.

In a widely circulated video, the former Big Brother Naija star, who currently resides in the UK, challenged the notion that living abroad guarantees wealth.

She criticized what she described as an “inferiority complex” among Nigerians at home who often assume that those overseas are financially successful.

“You people in Nigeria think everyone here is rich,” she said.

“But most of the broke people I’ve met are actually in the UK. It’s expensive out here, and everyone is just trying to survive.”

Tacha pointed to the high cost of living as a major reason many immigrants in the UK are facing financial hardship.

According to her, many Nigerians back home may, in reality, be living more comfortably than those abroad.

“Trust me, life here isn’t rosy. A lot of people in Nigeria are doing better than people living here,” she added.

She also advised Nigerians planning to relocate to the UK to be realistic about the financial challenges involved.

“If you want to move, that’s fine, but don’t come with the mindset that everything is easy,” she said.

“You could end up spending N300,000 on taxi rides in a day or over N1 million on a car in a week, unless you’re okay with using the train.”
