Security operatives in Kogi State have demolished several bandits’ camps in Aherin-Bunu community, Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area, as part of renewed efforts to rid the state of criminal elements.
The operation, coordinated by the State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd), led to the arrest of two injured bandits and two suspected fake doctors allegedly treating them.
Omodara, who supervised the Thursday operation, said the suspects were captured following credible intelligence linking them to recent criminal attacks in the area.
“The Governor has directed that any facility used to treat or harbour criminals be demolished immediately.
Acting on this order, security operatives moved into the area, arrested the suspects, and destroyed their camps,” he said.
Following Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s directive, the joint security team demolished and set ablaze the makeshift clinics and shelters used by the criminals, as well as farmlands linked to them.
Omodara cautioned residents against aiding or providing refuge for criminal elements, warning that anyone found culpable would face the full weight of the law.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to sustaining the ongoing crackdown, stressing that the administration would not relent in its efforts to protect lives and property across Kogi State.
