‘No one will be spared’ – Iran warns of global fallout from conflict

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, on Wednesday warned that the ongoing conflict involving his country could have far-reaching effects that would impact people across the globe.

Speaking on the potential consequences, Araghchi stressed that the repercussions would not discriminate based on race, religion, or economic status.

He called on Western nations to adopt stronger measures to prevent the conflict from worsening.

In a post on X, the minister said, “The wave of global impact has just begun and will affect everyone – regardless of wealth, religion, or race.” The post also included the resignation letter of Joe Kent, former director of the US National Counterterrorism Center, who stepped down on Tuesday.

Kent cited moral concerns for leaving his post, stating he could not “in good conscience” back the current US military stance against Iran, emphasizing that Tehran does not pose an immediate threat to the United States. Araghchi noted that other officials from Europe and America are also raising concerns over the crisis.

He urged the international community to exercise restraint and diplomacy to avert further escalation.
