The Ondo State Police Command has intensified security arrangements across the state as candidates begin the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

The announcement was contained in a statement released on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh.

The command said the action aligns with the directive of the Olatunji Rilwan Disu, who ordered strengthened security presence at examination venues nationwide.

It disclosed that officers have been deployed to all centres hosting the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Computer-Based Test in Ondo State.

“We have strategically deployed personnel and operational resources to all JAMB CBT centres to guarantee a secure and seamless conduct of the examination,” the statement said.

The police explained that the officers are tasked with ensuring orderliness, regulating traffic, and providing immediate response to any security concerns.

“This arrangement is aimed at protecting candidates, examination officials and facilities, while ensuring peace is maintained throughout the exercise,” it added.

The Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, reassured the public of adequate safety and urged cooperation with security operatives.

“Candidates must comply with all examination rules, while parents and guardians are advised to avoid crowding the centres,” the statement noted.

The command also called on residents to remain alert and promptly report any suspicious movement, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
