Socialite and businessman, Cubana Chief Priest, has failed in his bid to clinch the All Progressives Congress ticket for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency seat in Imo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The APC House of Representatives primary, which held as part of preparations for the next general election cycle, did not produce the nightlife entrepreneur as the party’s flagbearer for the constituency.
Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, had in recent months declared interest in elective politics under the APC platform, a move that drew significant attention across the South-East political landscape and on social media.
He had obtained the party’s nomination and expression of interest forms, stating that his ambition was driven by a desire to promote youth empowerment and drive development at the grassroots level.
His political entry, however, sparked mixed reactions among party stakeholders and constituents, with supporters pointing to his influence and philanthropic activities, while critics questioned his legislative readiness and political experience.
Despite the buzz surrounding his candidacy, the APC primary concluded without him securing the party’s ticket for the federal constituency seat.
As of press time, details of the final vote count and the eventual winner of the contest had not been officially disclosed by the party.
