Operatives of the Imo State Police Command have discovered a decomposing body during a raid on suspected kidnappers’ hideouts in Okuku and Ndegwu communities, both in Owerri West Local Government Area. The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has rescued no fewer than 221 victims of human trafficking in Jigawa State within two years. State Commander of the agency, Abdulladir Turajo, disclosed this yesterday during a one-day sensitisation campaign against human trafficking held in Kazaure. Turajo said the victims were rescued and reunited with their families following the establishment of the state command in July 2023. The Adamawa State Police Command has taken custody of a kidnapped victim, Abdullahi Usman, who was discovered bound and abandoned in a bush at Viniklang, Girei Local Government Area, near Yola.
