Proprietors of Private Schools have expressed concern over the federal government’s directive to peg the age of the West African Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examination Council (NECO) candidates. Three men, were on Tuesday, arraigned before an Ikorodu Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly stealing an electricity transformer valued N50 million. The defendants, Kehinde Akinkugbe, Tope Salisu, and Isiaka Amusa, whose addresses were not given, are being charged with conspiracy, stealing and malicious damage. The defendants, pleaded not guilty to the charge. The Prosecutor, ASP Aminu Isaac, told the court that Akinkugbe, Salisu and Amusa, committed the offences at about 2.30a.m on August 22, at Ajeri Street, Ijede, Ikorodu, Lagos. The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency on Monday sealed four churches, four hotels and bars, an event centre and a recycling company in the Ojo area of the state. In a post on its official X handle on Tuesday, LASEPA explained that the establishments were shut down for allegedly not complying with the state’s environmental laws. Two men on Tuesday appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stabbing a man on the head with a broken bottle during an argument. The defendants – Temitope Anifowoshe, 49, a businessman and Tope Sule, 50, a driver, both residing at 28, Egbatedo St., Oko- Oba, Agege, Lagos.
