Operatives of the police command in Katsina have foiled two bandits’ attacks and rescued five kidnapped victims in Malumfashi LGA. A 45-year-old man, Aramide Tito, was on Monday docked in a Badagry chief magistrates’ court in Lagos for allegedly starving and assaulting his 11-year-old stepson. The police command in Kaduna says its operatives have detained two cattle rustlers, two notorious gunrunners and three alleged kidnappers. The inspector general of police, Kayode Egbetokun, says a notorious kidnap kingpin was killed, and two abductors were arrested during an operation to rescue the 20 abducted medical students. Speaking while handing over the students to their vice-chancellors in Abuja on Sunday, Mr Egbetokun added that the arrested suspects were in custody.
