The police in Cross River State have launched a manhunt for “one chance” syndicate across Calabar metropolis. The state Commissioner of Police, Gyogon Grimah, who frowned at the increasing rate of the menace, made this known in a statement through the command’s spokesperson, SP Irene Ugbo. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested no fewer than 48,157 persons for drug-related offences between 2021 and 2023, its chairman, retired Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa said on Monday in Abuja. The spokesman for the agency, Femi Babafemi, stated that Mr Marwa made the declaration while receiving the UN Deputy Secretary-General, Amina Mohammed, who paid him a courtesy visit.
