The Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court in Ibadan, on Monday, ordered the remand of a 44-year-old man, Raimi Saka, in a correction centre for allegedly shooting and killing a she-goat while armed. Mr Saka, whose address was not provided, is charged with possession of dangerous weapons. The magistrate, Kausarat Ayofe, did not take the plea of Saka for want of jurisdiction. She directed the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice. Ms Ayofe adjourned the case until August 8 for mention. Oil Theft: NSCDC destroys illegal refinery, arrests three in Rivers The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested three suspects at an illegal oil refinery in Rivers. In a statement on Monday, the corps spokesperson, Babawale Afolabi, said the illegal bunkering site was located at Nembe/Odagwa Creek in the state’s Etche LGA. He explained that a large dug-out reservoir constructed and padded with tarpaulin, which could contain 100,000 litres of illegally refined crude oil, was uncovered at the site. The ECOWAS Court dismissed an application filed by former National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki, praying the court would compel Nigeria to enforce its judgment delivered in his favour on October  4, 2016. In its judgment, the court declared Mr Dasuki’s arrest and detention by the Nigerian government unlawful and a violation of his rights. An Iraqi court has issued death sentences to seven drug dealers, including a foreigner. “The Central Criminal Court issued a verdict to execute seven drug dealers, including a foreigner, who were convicted of trafficking narcotic substances,” the Supreme Judicial Council said in a statement, without specifying the nationality of the foreigner. The police in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, says it arrested no fewer than four suspected members of a kidnapping gang terrorising the FCT and its environs.
