Schools in Osun will resume on September 21, the State Government has announced. The Federal Government was on Monday warned by ASUU over the plan to reopen tertiary institutions without taking concrete steps to curb the spread of Coronavirus. The union noted that such an attempt without appropriate measures put in place will be suicidal. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has disowned the purported adoption of the Zenith Labour Party’s governorship candidate in Ondo State, Mr. Agboola Ajayi, by a group masquerading as ADC members in the state. Military authorities said yesterday that scores of fighters belonging to terrorist groups, Boko Haram and Darul Salam, were Killed in Kogi and Nasarawa states following an attack launched by special forces on their camps in the two states. The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to order the immediate publication of the list of all members of the National Assembly, and any other Nigerian involved in the contract scam at the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC. The Nigerian Communications Commission is set to award research grants to the tune of N9m to three deserving Nigerian start-ups with proposals for adaptable digital solutions for containing the impact of COVID-19 pandemic in the country. A statement signed by the Director, Public Affairs, NCC, Dr Ikechukwu Adinde, said the selection of the companies followed a careful evaluation of 282 entries in the NCC COVID-19 Virtual Hackathon. The Lagos State University has announced that its students would resume in batches. The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, SAN, made this known on Monday.
