The Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal on Tuesday dismissed the appeal filed by former senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, challenging the victory of his successor, Senator Smart Adeyemi, at the November 2019 by-election. The Justice Ibrahim Saulawa-led three-man bench, in its judgment on the appeal, affirmed the June 10, 2020 judgment of the Kogi State National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal, Abuja, upholding Adeyemi’s election. A US-based Nigerian doctor, Dr Stella Emmanuel, has alleged there is a conspiracy of a group of pharmaceutical practitioners on COVID-19. The radiologist, who said she has singlehandedly treated over 350 COVID-19, with no record of death, most of them elderly with underlying ailments, said she has been getting death threats and ran to the White House to expose the conspiracy. The Independent ectoral commission, INEC has said 17 political parties have submitted the names of theira candidates for the Ondo State governorship election scheduled for October 10. THE Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has been holding on to N900 billion of lenders’ deposits as Cash Reserve Ration (CRR) since January. By the CRR policy, banks have a mandate to keep 27.5 per cent of all deposits  with the CBN. The CRR is a portion of bank’s deposit kept with the CBN for liquidity control. THREE persons were were killed and four others injured after a gas shop esploded in Lagos last night. The incident occurred around 7pm on Inua Mohammed Street, Off Asa-Afariogun Street, Ajao Estate, Isolo. Among the deceased were the gas shop owner and a commercial cyclist, while children and other nearby shop owners were said to have sustained injuries.
