The Ondo State Government said it would not tolerate any form of religious, social, or public gathering during the 2020 Eid id Kabir celebrations in the state. The government said the law banning the social and religious gatherings in the state still subsisted. He died having celebrated his 77th birthday on July 6 during which he launched his 13th book titled: “Restructuring to save Nigeria from post-oil disintegration.” The one- time Adjutant General and Commander, Training and Doctrine Command was also the pioneer Director at National War College. Afenifere Chieftain, Pa Ayo Fasanmi, has died at the age of 94. Fasanmi, who was a pharmacist, died on Wednesday night according to his son, Afolabi. He wrote in a statement, “With gratitude to the Almighty God for a life well spent, we wish to announce the demise of our father, Senator Ayo Fasanmi, at the ripe age of 94 years.” Afolabi said his father, who was a Second Republic senator, died peacefully in Osogbo, the Osun State capital. Delta State government said it has trained 5,697 teachers from public and private schools across 25 local government areas on COVID-19 protocols to ensure adequate safety of school children from contracting the coronavirus.
